Hi folks,

I have two questions regarding ToolOne settings:

1. where can be raised max goods capacity of warehouses on an island? looks like the max cap is 999.

2. where can I increase the harbour size? There is HarbourSize in Balancing, but seems that is ignored by the game.

2. Select the HabourMastersOffice or another harbour building in the AssetEditor.
Copy the building and create an assetchild. Select it and increase the value "InfluenceRadius" in the category "Influence" to expend the influence radius of any harbour building. The building needs the "InfluenceRadiusType" "Harbour" to create a harbour radius.

Edit: 1. I don't think that it's possible to raise the limit above 999.

Thanks for the quick answer!

I'm already past of understanding how ToolOne works http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I have the wanted buildings all copied under my map. I try ALL the harbour/coast buildings with influence-modification, but the increased range appear only before I place the building. After placement, when I want to place any new harbour-building, the higlight around the office or warehouse drops back to the original size. Thus, as the warehouse and the harbour office has not only Harbour, but Production, economy-type buildings can be placed within the increased radius.

You could try to increase the value ShipValues->ShipTradingDistance in the balancing asset but I didnt test it.

Thanks, Nightmare, but my goal is to expand a little the harbour (and its buildings) over the sea. I'm a little frustrated, because I have tried all the possibilities regarding the influence category, without success.
I got the Pier harbour expansion mod; this modifies the assets.xml, increasing the influence of the Pier. But with this assets.xml, having PreferLocalFiles=1, in game it didn't work http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Did you try to change BOTH HarbourSize AND HarbourMastersOffice?
Even if HarbourSize was bigger than 15 you wouldn't be able to build outside HarbourMastersOffice's InfluenceRadius of 15. Thus, both need to be increased.

If that still doesn't help, you could try to get around by adding an InfluenceRadius to the HarbourSystem itself.

Ok, I tried again and here is the result:

I made it to expand the harbour a bit. But it I think it also depends on the "sea borders" of islands. To expand the radius (it looks a bit bugged =D) I modified the small storehouse:

I set the influence radius up to 20 and declared a "Production;Harbour" influence radius. Now the small storehouse expands the radius. The problem is: there is a not-visible border that limits the expansion. I think the spot where you can't see anymore "how much build material is stored on this island at the moment" (on top of the interface" is also the border for the expansion. The invisible island border. But it is possible to expand the radius, try it your self http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Edit: Alex was a way faster than me http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
As he said: you can not only add harbour influence to the storehouse as I did but also add it to the system itself. http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Alex, I have modified both values.

Manic, I think you're right, when moving the cursor on the sea, appear a line, the island "limit", correct!. Thus, this does not explain, why I cannot place ex. a tower on the coast farther! Please try: you have a warehouse, with increased influence, type Production; Harbour. You place this on the coast. After that, all production-type buildings can be placed into an increased radius. But in the moment in which you want to place near a harbour-type building, ex. a harbour tower, around the warehouse appear the original-size highlight (= harbour size not changed) that unfortunately is not affected by the increased influence. (HarbourSize in Balancing is set to 40 already)

Manic, could you send me please the map that you made? I don't know why this does not work for me http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I just create a new one and send it. The actual map is a test map where ships shoot with cows instead of cannonballs http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif so I'll just create a new one. I'll post the downloadlink in this thread.

Thanks in anticipation; I think anyone could learn from it.

hope it solves your problem http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yes, it is as we discussed earlier: it works only withing the let's name it island frontier, shown in the WorldEditor around the island.

It is very interesting: you set up the warehouse on the coast, and after, let's say you want to place a storehouse. When you click on the storehouse, you are able to place it outside of the highlighted area around the warehouse. Think some minor bug in the system http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So, to build an expanded harbour, someone must choose a good place around the island http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Manic, thanks a lot for your effort and kindness!
