Hello guys,

I don't know if this is the right forum, but the anno1701.com website referred me over here and I managed to get through the german registration on here.

Anyways, I have a few questions about 1701 which I recently bought.

1. Is there any way to disable the pesky rats? It makes playing the game a lot less fun as I like transport goods to another island, which subsequently always has full warehouses.

2. Is there any way to change the rate of taxation, as I can't seem to make enough profit to wage a war?

3. Is there a map editor? It seems like the islands are much smaller than in 1503 even if you choose large islands.

Thank you in advance for your response!

Hello welcome, http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/froehlich/a010.gif
yes you are in the right Forum.

I'll try to answer your Questions.
1. No http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif there is no way to disable the rats. The only Thing you can do is to load the goods on a Ship wait till the rats are gone and than put the gods back to the Warehouse.
2. You can change the taxation. Just click on a house and there is a bar where you can change the tax rate. In the dark green the tax is low (you need to set the taxes to this Level when you want your people to grade up to the next Level (Pioneer to Settlers for Example).
Then comes a light green part in this new people move to your town but houses won't grade up.
When you set the tax in the yellow people stay in your town but no new people move in.
when you set the tax to red people will leave your city and burn the houses.

So if all your houses have max. habitants you can set taxes in the yellow to get more profit.
You can change the tax separately for each social class.

3. An Editor will come with the Add-on.

I hope this will help you a bit and you understand what I mean. My English is not so good. http://forums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

By the way there is also an english part in this Forum
