Hi everyone!

Today i was doing some test on wip Duilio battleship, with original Roma zones.

Test was a fight between 2 task forces, 1 italian and 1 british; every nation had 10 ships:



Italian ships:

4 Soldati class DD (escorts)

Giuseppe Garibaldi & Luigi di Savoia CL

Fiume CA & Zara CA

Aquila CV

Caio Duilio BB



British ships.

2 V&W class & 2 A&B class DD (escorts)

Dido & Fiji CL

Dorsetshire & London CA

Illustrious CV

Warspite BB

The battle was really heavy; cannons shoots a lot of times from every ship!

In the battle, just Warspite, London and a single V&W that was behind the battlegroup survives; all italian units are lost

Ok, thats the problem: Duilio didn't sunk, she became a ghost and vanish slowly!

I've tryed with Roma in place of Duilio, same problem! I think this is a "parent unit" bug, does someone have ideas?

I've published this help request also on subsim, i hope someone can say me how to solve this; please, Gerome, if you read this, do you know something related with this bug?

Hi VonDosm

a similar problem was reported here some times ago: in GWX 1.3, the artilleriy barge vanish in the same way.

With GWX 2.1 the problem is gone. GWX has "re-cloned" the artillrty barge a secound time. So i think you should try this way: once again clone the "Duilio" with Pack3D, best with an early version of Pack3D.

And then make a simple test with the "Duilio": just the "Duilio" and one sub, fire some 4 torpedoes at the "Duilio" and watch what happens.

Yes.
Pack3D does an incomplete clone.
Reflections, DynamicShadows, and some animation ID's are not cloned.

Also, I adjust the location data in each dat
to fit the new models.

I believe S3D does that now also.

Glad the files worked Mate!

And to the Tech side.

All cloneing by Pack3d appeared proper except the Reflections and DynamicShadows
Which Pack3D does not clone.

Also, Pack3d does not re-index.

I plan on re-doing the orginal files
without re-indexing them to
see if that is indeed a problem.

S3D, I believe, will clone completely.
And also re-index on command.

(I've never tested S3D other then look at it, Sorry!)
